Spanish is a beautiful language, and fairly easy to learn. I take for granted the fact that I can carry on a basic conversation in Spanish; however, as of late, it has become useful. When we were in Italy, my basic Spanish vocabulary came to the rescue when trying to navigate through the cities, as Spanish very easily relates to Italian. I have the same opinion though, that we should embrace the growing population of spanish-speaking peoples in our country. Most hard-headed Americans feel like "they" should learn English, believing that English is the language of our country- but really, America is beautiful because it is a conglomerate of everyone from everywhere. We should embrace the change around us, and if that means learning a little bit of Spanish, so be it.
