This is good stuff. I've found a Sunday morning gathering that I believe has a heart in the right place, but there are certainly times when the emphasis for the Salvation of unsaved visitors is placed on how perfectly executed the performance is...and it is on those days that I leave frustrated...
As if a glitch in our sound board or a lighting malfunction will stop someone from coming to know Christ.
I love this post...it's a good reminder that regardless of the ups and downs, failures and mismarks of the denominational church, God can't be defined by that and it is not the center of our walk...I often stress about where we will go to church if we leave Tallahassee...as if going to the building on a Sunday were of the utmost importance...this was a great reminder that service, compassion, worship, community, CHRIST can and should exist not only inside , but outside of the church walls, daily.

Don't know if any of that makes sense...but your post made a lot of sense to me :)

Thanks.

Des,
Nail on the head , directly you hit! Did that sound like Yoda? My bad, I'm not that big of a dork :). But this post hit me right in the heart. Not to motivate me to change but to encourage me in the way that I already view the church as well. Solid work, my friend.
